Warranty & Returns Policy

Warranty & Returns Policy

Check that your product meets our conditions for return 

Make sure your product meets all of the following requirements.

  1. Send a request for return with detailed reasons to: [email protected].
    You will need to obtain our confirmation before you return the product to us. We will also tell you whether we will provide you with a refund for the product. We may also give you specific directions about how to return the product to us.
  2. The product must be unused.
  3. The product must be 'as new’ in appearance - no signs of wear, use, installation or damage.
  4. The product must be in its original packaging, which is in perfect condition (including all labels still attached).
  5. The product must be returned within 60 days from the date of purchase (not the date you received the product).  Perishable products with a "use by" or "best before" date must be returned and received by us within 30 days from the date of purchase.

If you are unsure whether your product meets these conditions for return, please email us. If we receive an product for return that is not in perfect condition (e.g. you did not obtain our confirmation to return the product, labels removed, packaging damaged, product showing signs of wear or use) we may decline the return or charge a restocking fee of $50 or 50% of the value of the item, whichever is less.

 

Pack up the product 

Pack the product safely and securely, to prevent possible damage to either the product or its packaging (we recommend using bubble wrap or other protective materials).  Do not use any adhesives on the product or its packaging, as adhesives may mark the product or packaging when they are removed and we will not be able to process the return.  If we have given you any directions about how to pack the product, you need to comply with these directions.

 

Send

You are responsible for the cost of returning the product to us, and for ensuring that the product reaches us safely. You must comply with any directions for returning the product that we give you. The product will remain your responsibility during transit until such time as it is received at the address supplied by us. We will not accept liability for any loss or damage which may occur during transit.  You may wish to consider using a registered/insured service to return the product.  

 

We will process your refund

We will assess your product and process a refund via your original payment method. We aim to do this within 72 business hours of receiving the returned product.

You'll receive an email from us notifying you once your return has been processed.

We will refund the price you paid for the product, but please note that we will not refund any shipping costs originally charged and we deduct any promotional savings (e.g. if you purchased 2 products as part of a "buy 2 products, get 10% off", and return one of them, we will refund the difference as though you just purchased the 1 product).

 

A note about exchanges

We do not offer product-for-product exchanges. 

To exchange a product, simply send your product back and we’ll refund you.  In the meantime, you can place an order with us for a new product.

 

Change of Mind

Please choose your product/s carefully. Marine Warehouse does not allow returns for products where you have simply changed your mind. This includes returns where you have selected a product size that is incorrect, or where you simply selected the wrong product. If you are unsure at the time of purchase, please contact us - we are only too happy to help you select the best product for your needs to avoid any disappointment.

 

Faulty products / Warranty Claims

All sales from us are covered by the Australian Consumer Law. This means that products you purchase should be free from defects, and do what they are meant to do. If you have any problems with your product, we'll work together with you and the manufacturer/importer to reach a resolution.

 
The remedy you may receive in each case depends on:

  • our Warranty Conditions below
  • the time that has lapsed since you purchased the product
  • the product type
  • the value of the product
  • the nature of the fault or problem and
  • the cause of the fault or problem

 When contacting us regarding faulty or problematic goods, please include:

  • order number
  • proof of purchase
  • description of the issue (as detailed as possible) and
  • photos or videos demonstrating the issue

 

Warranty Conditions

  1. Subject to the terms and conditions set out below, and to overarching manufacturer warranties, our products have a standard warranty period of 12 months.
  2. The benefits provided to you by this standard warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under the law.
  3. Proof of purchase (invoice or paid order confirmation) must be provided when requesting service under any warranty.
  4. We require any customer requesting service under any warranty to comply with directions from us:
    - in relation to troubleshooting any issue and
    - facilitating any repair or replacement under these warranty conditions.
  5. Where products are faulty or damaged on delivery to you, photographic evidence of the damage must be submitted by email to us to  [email protected] before the product will be repaired or replaced in accordance with these conditions.
  6. We reserve the right to replace the product (or relevant part) with the same or equivalent product (or part), rather than repair it. Where a replacement is provided, we will determine, in our discretion, the closest product within our current range of products with which to replace the faulty or damaged product. The replacement product may differ with the replaced product in size and specifications.  Replacement of the product or a part under the standard warranty does not extend or restart the standard warranty period.
  7. If we are unable to repair or replace the product, you will be provided with a refund.  This refund will be for the amount of the purchase price of the product excluding any associated shipping costs.
  8. In the event that a replacement or refund is provided in accordance with these Conditions, the faulty product will become our property.
  9. You must inspect all goods received from us upon arrival. In instances where goods have been damaged in transit, you must report this to us by email within 3 days of your receipt of the product to [email protected]. Failure to report physical damage on arrival within 3 days of receipt may result in us denying any warranty for physical damage.
