How does it work? The patented preventor quickly unscrews and docks on the alternate station to transform the Manson Boss anchor from a fixed shank to a sliding shank for operation in foul ground. It’s captive so you won’t lose it!
Finite Element Analysis (“FEA”) has been used to optimise strength and the unnecessary material has been removed from the Boss Shank. Coupled with the best Lloyd’s registered certified high tensile steel, this approach released new design freedoms. This has had a flow through effect on every other aspect of the anchor.
Dual action winglets promote anchor roll over and deeper setting. Extensive modelling has enhanced the winglet design so as the Boss will adopt the correct setting attitude immediately upon connection with the sea floor. Cleverly, upon penetration the winglets force the fluke downwards deeper in the sea bed. In house testing shows the Boss achieving at least 28% deeper settings than other new generation anchors.
Intelligent application of design has given the Boss a power house fluke. From the piercing spear tip, to the larger than life fluke (for the given weight of the anchor), to the winglets that help to drive the anchor on ever deeper.
In house testing confirms that this anchor constantly exceeds the world’s first official Super High Holding Power anchor, the Supreme, by a factor 20%. This is not surprising given the fluke advantage the Boss enjoys over all comers.
Highly specifying the shank material has allowed for shank weight reduction, all this weight has been transferred into the fluke design. This has lead to massive design freedom to increase the fluke surface area.

The Supreme shown here is effectively two anchor sizes up. In some installations you can safely downsize your anchor and still exceed your anchoring requirements.

Ultimately it comes down to holding power, the Boss has you set!
Manson believes the anchor is an important safety item on your boat. No other anchor can deliver you such surety in every parameter, fast setting, super high holding power, versatility in use and high strength. Manson believes you should be able to anchor in peace. Peace of mind to enjoy your boating and no embarrassing dragging of anchors. The Boss will hold you fast.
Utilising the single slot with Shackle preventor system, the Boss is an anchor for all occasions and all sea bed types. Simply by using the full slot location, the Boss can be forward retrieved. The new shape allows for fitment to just about any vessel, in fact, this is Manson’s most “fitting” anchor to date. The shank shape is perfect for bow roller conformity and the small bow roller stop knob is an example of the attention to detail this anchor has been given. Every feature of the anchor is aimed at improved performance in all areas of operation. Hands down, this anchor out performs.
Only virgin Lloyds approved high tensile steel is used. No lead is used in these anchors, simply clever design. Intensive quality controls ensure that every Manson anchor is an anchor of the highest quality. This is exactly why Manson can confidently offer you a life time warranty on their anchors.
Fisherman trade's three anchors for one Manson Boss...
Long time Territorian fisherman, Syd Jenkins received a call from Marine Warehouse in Brisbane to try out one of their new beaut anchors recently.
They call her The Boss by Manson Anchors.
So Syd took on the challenge and set out from Dundee Beach for an overnight trip with the Boss where the fish are big, the reef is harsh and the Crocodiles are friendly.
The 10lb Boss surprised Syd who had his doubts, she held fast for the overnight stay at sea with two turns of tide. When anchored in sand and mud the Boss showed incredible holding power.
The Boss held fast on the reef that delivered a monster Jew fish. When it came time to move on to the next secret location the Boss was easily retrieved.
Syd says he is now able to get rid of his three different seabed anchors in favor of the Boss, he also says he has tried a lot of anchors in his years and this one is the best he has come across so far.
