Tools Needed
Electric Drill and 1/4” Drill Bit
Phillips Head Screwdriver
Pencil
NSTALLATION HARDWARE
(4) SS Nylon Lock Hex Nuts
(4) ¼-20 x 1.0” SS Bolts
NOTE:
The StingRay AIRO Hydrofoil includes a left and a right hydrofoil wing
The right hydrofoil wing includes the StingRay AIRO logo on the top
surface, and the left hydrofoil wing is blank on the top surface.
INSTALLATION STEPS:
1. Slide the left hydrofoil wing onto the left side of the cavitation plate. Slide it as far forward as possible. Using a pencil, mark the cavitation plate through each of the two holes in the hydrofoil’s wing. Remove the left hydrofoil wing, and repeat this step with the right hydrofoil wing on the right side of the cavitation plate.
2. Using an Electric Drill and 1/4” Drill Bit, drill perpendicularly through the cavitation plate using the four pencil marks on the top side of the cavitation plate as a drill guide. Make sure to keep the drill perpendicular to the cavitation plate while drilling.
3. After drilling, slide the left hydrofoil wing onto the left side of the cavitation plate so that the holes in the hydrofoil’s wings line up with the holes that were drilled in STEP #2.
4. Place a SS Nylon Hex Nut into each of the hex pockets that surround the holes on the top side of the hydrofoil wing. Make sure the smaller openings on each of the SS Nylon Hex Nuts are facing upwards and the larger openings on the SS Nylon Hex Nuts are facing downwards towards the cavitation plate.
5. Insert the ¼-20 x 1.0” SS Bolts from the bottom of the cavitation plate so they travel up through the clearance holes on the bottom side of the hydrofoil wing, into the hole in the cavitation plate drilled in STEP #2, and into the SS Nylon Hex Nuts.
PRO TIP: Place a finger on top of the Nylon Hex Nuts to keep them in place while inserting the SS Bolts from the bottom side.
5. Tighten the SS Bolts with a Phillips Head Screwdriver until the hydrofoil wing is securely installed.
6. Repeat STEPS #3-5 using the right hydrofoil wing.
7. Check for propeller clearance by slowly turning the propeller by hand making sure that there is no interference between the StingRay AIRO Hydrofoil and the propeller before operating!
