contains high 'tradesmen' quality resin and hardener, formulated in Australian for Australian conditions. (Epoxy Resin Kit is supplied as a complete pack with the correct amount of hardener). The Epoxy Resin Kit is a Low Viscosity Epoxy Resin that can be used in a huge variety of applications including boat hulls and structures which need to completely exclude moisture, as well as laminating and bonding of nearly all materials. When modified with fillers such as wood powder, Micro Balloons or Q Cells the resin can be used as a filling and fairing compound with outstanding results.
The resins can also be used with most types of fiberglass sheeting / matting, carbon fibre or kevlar, as well as used over urethane foams and other sandwich core materials.
Qcells are a light weight, microscopic glass bubbles, used as a filler with Polyester & Epoxy Resins. QCells have a reasonable compression strength and are generally used to get bulk without adding too much weight. They are also ideal for fairing. QCells are easily sanded. Not for use below waterline on permanently immersed vessels.
Always wear gloves and dust masks and avoid breathing vapours of resin or dust residue.
Clean all brushes, rollers and fibreglass tools with Acetone.
Polyester Resin, MEKP, Epoxy Resin, Chopped Strand Mat, Acetone, Tools and safety equipment are available.
Directions for use:
Maximum working time once hardener has been applied : 40Minutes
Always wear dust masks & avoid breathing vapours of resins & dust residue.
1 - Estimate needed resin and mix in hardener.
2 - Add Q-CELL to resin in small amounts, folding in the cells to avoid them blowing away. repeat this until desired consistency is reached. (For best results, a medium paste is recommended (mayonnaise consistency); avoid adding too much Q-CELL to the resin mixture or it will be too thick to apply.)
3 - Stir resin until qcell is completely saturated.
4 - Apply using a filler applicator, or another smooth hard utensil to push the filler into the recess / hole.
5- After 18 Hours the compound should be able to be sanded, after 3 days the filler should be ready for finishing
